I love it when this happens… when an art student is studying my work it gives me such a buzz, it makes me feel like a real artist, brings “the dream” alive – brings me a little closer to where I would like to be. It is a special moment for sure – thank you to Sarah, an Art teacher at St Aidan’s Church of England High School, for sharing her year 10 pupil’s work with me.
To your right: Study of Girl with Plaited Hair by year 10 St Aidan’s Art Student.
I like this students sketchbook, it’s presented in a cool way. She has a lovely plaited hairstyle to study and viewed from an interesting angle – it’d make a nice painting. Keep up the good work!
You may remember my friend Sarah from this previous news post: Portrait Painter Yorkshire – Sarah is quite a talented artist herself.
I also had my Wedding Portrait studied by an A-Level student: Studying Yorkshire Artist – take a look at the fantastic artwork produced by Louise.
Whether you are an artist like me, an art student at school/collage/university, an art teacher, thinking of taking up art or painting, or you just like to dabble with oil paint in your spare time, I would love to hear from you and help you out wherever I can. I am always happy to be contacted via email with any questions you have regarding your work, how to paint, technical advice, etc. – you get the idea and I look forward to hearing from you.
